Tokyo - Natsumi

We had a rough night and were wondering what we should do. We decided that we should go to a doctor. The only way to see a doctor was to go to the hospital. Our only worry was that we might need antibiotics if what we had was strep throat. On our Brad's advice, it would be wise to see a doctor.
I had met a wonderful Japanese friend in Toronto at tiff 3 years ago as we stood in line for hours to purchase tickets.  We hit it off and she came up to Newmarket for dinner and I showed her around our nice little town and took her to Toronto another day. Little did we know we might meet again, here in Tokyo. We had planned to meet today but since we were not feeling good, she took good care of us.she contacted the front desk, sent us the name of a doctor at the hospital who was English speaking and checked on us throughout the morning with phone calls. Dreading the cost and time, we thought we'd wait it out and hope we'd feel better with time. We both felt better. Norm, being wise, choose to rest at the hotel and I wanted to venture where my sweet cousin, Maureen ( who lived in Tokyo for a few year and in France for a few years) advised me to go, the market at Harajuku.
Everything is easily accessible by Tokyo Metro and once you figure the system out, it's easy to get around. Everything is labelled in English and Japanese.  As opposed to our quiet subdivision, near the imperial palace, where everything was closed, somewhat like our Ottawa, when I exited the metro I was carried by a wave of people. I had no idea which direction to go, or where exactly I was heading. so I followed the crowd and found myself at the market!! :-) the narrow streets were colourful and busy.

Then I reaized that i was on  Takeshita not on Harajuku.
Harajuku was more upscale. I enjoyed people watching and refrained from buying decadent pastries and wanted to return to the hotel to have lunch with Norm.
I took the subway home wearing my mask. You feel invincible wearing it. There is a comfort, a feeling of safety and it's liberating not worrying about how you look.

When I returned, Norm had a massage to relieve his back pain, we rescheduled with Natsumi and went to Akasaka for an Indian dinner.
