Sydney -January 13/14

We went into Bondi Beach for the day. It's a beach town not far from Sydney for young people, backpackers and surfers. We found a nice restaurant in  Ravesi Hotel overlooking the beach and stayed cool and rested while munching on appetizers and drinking beer....there's a lot of eating and drinking through holidays, we'll cut back when settled into routine....We do share many meals.
We returned to the Rocks area for dinner to eat at Zia Pina Italian restaurant on George st., a main street in Sydney. Norm's in heaven when we have pizza/Italian and I'm in heaven when we have anything Asian!! So we take turns choosing restaurants. We used to do that when we went to Myrtle beach with the kids...every night each one of us took a turn choosing.
When we came out of the restaurant we turned a corner and found ourselves in front of the harbour overlooking the opera house at twilight...the best lighting for photography. We went a little crazy taking photos. It was breathtaking!
I missed Hollywood, so we decided to see American Hustle at a cinema right in the quay...the cost of movie $18.50 and the popcorn was $4.50....it was a mistake going to see it at 9 pm. We both fell asleep tag team style. Between us we got the jist of the movie.
Our  2 day hop on hop off bus pass had expired.
The next day we went into Chinatown and Paddy's Market...again...magic...norm had a hard time walking so we asked the bus driver if it was going to Chinatown..it was and i asked how much, the driver said... free!!! :-) :-)
We had a lovely walk around Chinatown and ended up at  Darling Harbor everything in Sydney is so close together in the midst of Chinatown there was a beautiful Chinese garden called  Garden of friendship. We enjoyed some traditional tea in that peaceful Haven.
In the evening we took Capt. Cook's dinner cruise in the harbor and met a lovely couple from Perth. It was a sedate dinner cruise compared to the Hawaiian dinner cruise, where we were tossed around in the water. Two more days in Sydney and it's down to routine, a new routine, in Melbourne.
